🌱 ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Founded by Mike Manzo

THE SEEDS LA didn't begin with a single moment. It grew the way seeds do slowly, through years of real experiences, honest conversations and a deepening understanding that people often carry far more than they ever show.

After years of walking alongside individuals and families through some of life's hardest chapters, one truth became impossible to ignore: people don't just need resources they need to feel understood. They need someone who has been there. Someone who gets it without explanation. Someone who shows up not as a professional looking in, but as a peer standing beside them.

That truth became the foundation of this work.

THE SEEDS LA is a peer support program built on lived experience. The name says it all growth takes time, the right environment, and consistent care. Communities flourish when people feel seen, when support feels genuine, and when opportunity isn't reserved for the few.

This program was created to cultivate exactly that kind of space.

Through peer support services, mentoring, life skills training, empowerment workshops and staff development, THE SEEDS LA meets people where they are not where systems expect them to be. Every service we offer is rooted in empathy, consistency, and the belief that real change happens when someone chooses to show up for another person.

This work is deeply personal to me. I've witnessed resilience in places others overlooked. I've seen what's possible when someone finally feels supported without judgment.

My goal is simple: to create a space where dignity is the starting point, connection is the practice, and growth is always possible right here in our community.
